Permanent damage: Man moves court against ‘quack’

Consumer court sets January 6 for hearing in a suit seeking Rs1,500,000 damages.

LAHORE:
A consumer court on Monday set January 6 for hearing in a suit seeking Rs1,500,000 damages. Petitioner Mubashir Ali told the court that on June 26, he visted Muzaffar Ali’s clinic with a fever.  He said Ali gave him an injection that left him paralyzed in his left arm.  He said he was taken to Mayo Hospital and had to spend Rs400,000 on tests and Rs100,000 on prescribed medicine.  He said he later found out that Ali was a quack with no medical qualifications. The petitioner said the muscles in his left arm had been permanently damaged. He told the court that he had sent Ali a legal notice on November 6 but he did not respond.  Muzaffar Ali was not available for his comments.
