K-P Chief Secretary announces govt had earmarked Rs500 million for university of technical education to be established
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Secretary Muhammad Shehzad Arbab announced on Monday that the government had earmarked Rs500 million for a university of technical education to be established in the province.
According to an official handout, the chief secretary made the announcement while presiding over a high-level briefing. “The establishment of a technical university would help a lot of students as well as experts in technical education,” said Arbab.
He added Rs500 million were allocated in the Annual Development Programme, while certain donor agencies had also shown willingness to support it financially.
“The K-P governor has given his assent to the law department, while the government has already approved National Qualification Framework for the purpose,” Arbab added.
The chief secretary was informed that Japanese company JICA had agreed to provide machinery and other equipment worth Rs205 million, while a German company, GIZ would provide Rs46 million for computers, photocopiers and generators for the university.
