LAHORE:

In a rare episode, opposition groups across the country vented their anger at provincial governments at rallies and protests that they organised against the ruling parties in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Expressing their concern, the opposition parties censured the administrations in the three provinces for their failure to address issues that directly affect the people.

Taking advantage of the sinking popularity of the ruling parties in the provinces, leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, flanked by Jamaat-e-Islami and Awami Muslim League converged on The Mall in Lahore to deliver fiery speeches, lambasting the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government in Punjab.

Similarly in Sindh, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, seemingly at odds with the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party(PPP), staged a rally of its supporters in Karachi and accused the PPP of bad governance and inefficiency in the  province.

Surprisingly, in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where PTI claims better governance, participant parties of Difa-e-Pakistan Council staged a jirga and expressed dissatisfaction over the policies of the provincial government.
