LAHORE:

A Lahore High Court judge remarked on Thursday that only God could save the country because politicians considered it their right to interfere in everything.

Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi made these remarks while hearing a petition by a government employee facing fraud charges.

The accused, Ana Yasin, has sought directions for change of investigation.

Yasin’s counsel alleged that Law Minister Rana Sanaullah was influencing the investigation. He said the investigation should be entrusted to some other officer.

The Anti-Corruption Department director general told the court that the petitioner’s allegations were baseless. He said the investigation was proceeding on merit.

In the end, the court dismissed Yasin’s petition and directed the Anti-Corruption Department to complete its investigation. It directed the department to submit a report within a week.

"A Lahore High Court judge remarked on Thursday that only God could save the country"

Well, then perhaps the LHC should issue a a directive asking God to immediately Fix the country within 24 hours. If the country is still not fixed after that they can issue a Show Cause Notice to God for Contempt of Court...
