The Shia Ulema Council and the family of the deceased refused to bury him. They staged a protest demonstration in front of the Langar Hussaini imam bargah and demanded that police immediately arrest the assailants.

The protest ended when District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chatha assured the protestors that the assailants would be arrested soon.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Chatha said police had received a complaint from the family of the deceased. He said security around the district had been beefed up.
