FAISALABAD:

The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) on Thursday declared a private housing scheme in the city illegal and notified its developer to stop development work and sale of plots. An FDA spokesman reminded the media that no person or agency was allowed to develop housing schemes without meeting FDA requirements and getting an approval.

“Hasan Gardens housing scheme was initiated by Al-Mubashar Trading Corporation, Irfan Market, without getting prior permission from the FDA in Chak 216-RB, Jaranwala,” he said.

The spokesman said the housing scheme had been declared illegal under “Section 39 of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and under Sections 8(7) of Punjab Private Site Development Schemes Regulations 2001.” He said if the developer ignored the notification, the FDA could demolish all structures at the site.

“The FDA can also prosecute the developer,” he said.

He said the district collector had also been informed that the deeds of sale and purchase of plots at Hasan Gardens should not be registered.

“Provision of electricity, gas, and water will also be stopped”, the spokesman said.
