Cold comfort: Winter aid package sent to Awaran

Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker handed over relief goods worth Rs100 million to the Balochistan government.

QUETTA: Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani has handed over relief goods worth Rs100 million to the Balochistan government, under the Winter Relief Package for the earthquake victims of Awaran district.

Gorchani said 100 truckloads containing 30,000 blankets and 60,000 quilts have been sent to Awaran.  He said the people of Punjab have so far sent relief goods worth Rs287 million and donated Rs255 million for Balochistan Relief Fund, adding that the Punjab government would establish a modern hospital and a model village in Awaran.

He assured the quake victims that deserving children of Awaran would get admissions in medical colleges of Lahore.
