Detention: ‘Bagram prisoners will be released after questioning’
Interior Ministry says they were kept at a safe location.

A law officer of the Interior Ministry on Tuesday told the Lahore High Court that the six Pakistani citizens repatriated from Bagram prison in Afghanistan were being interrogated by an investigation team.
The ministry official claimed that the repatriated prisoners were being kept at a safe location in the FATA. He said on arrival, their medical examination had been conducted.
The counsel said the prisoners would be produced before the court after interrogation was completed.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till January 24 and directed the petitioner’s counsel to file a rejoinder.
On a previous hearing, the petitioner’s counsel had stated that the prisoners were being humiliated and kept in unhygienic conditions. Justice Project Pakistan, a non-profit law firm, had filed the petition for the release and return of 25 Pakistani citizens detained at the Bagram jail by the US. It said Pakistani citizens had been detained at Bagram jail without any charge or trial since 2003. It alleged that they were abducted from Pakistan and moved to the infamous US prison in Afghanistan.
