Full court reference: Inquiry into leaked footage adjourned
Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussian Jillani took notice of the leaked footage of the former CJP’s Full Court Reference.
ISLAMABAD:
The Additional Registrar of the Supreme Court adjourned the inquiry into the leak of footage of the Full Court Reference on the request of the President of the Press Association of the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussian Jillani took notice of the leaked footage of the former CJP’s Full Court Reference on December 12 and appointed Additional Registrar Supreme Court Muhammad Ali to hold an inquiry into the matter. Javed Ahmed Soomro, president of the Press Association of Supreme Court (PAS), appeared before the inquiry officer and said he needed time to inform his colleagues about the commencement of the inquiry proceedings.
He said they have yet to decide whether all persons from the electronic and print media covering the Full Court Reference will appear at the proceedings. Zeeshan Gondal, Deputy Manager (Litigation), PEMRA has appeared in response to the notice and filed a list of channels which aired the footage of the Full Court Reference.
