MULTAN:

More than 800 school children exchanged Christmas gifts at a ceremony organised in Multan on Monday by the Environment Protection Foundation (EPF), an NGO, to promote religious harmony.

The ceremony held at the St Joseph School Bishop House was titled, A Tolerant, Harmonious, and Green Community Initiative.

Talking to The Express Tribune, EPF spokesperson Nomita Wajid said the ceremony had been organised to bring together children from various religious communities. She said the children had welcomed the idea. “All communities and sects should celebrate the feasts to develop an inclusive culture,” she said. Multan Bishop Andrew Francis, the chief guest, praised the EPF for its effort. “As citizens, we should all try to promote a positive image of our country,” he said.MPA Rai Mansab Ali also spoke with the children. He assured his support for similar future events.
