The Lahore High Court Monday disposed of a petition filed by 279 sacked traffic wardens challenging the fraud case against them.
Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan heard the petition filed by Qamar Javed, Maqsood, Muhammad Fayaz and others who had sought quashment of the case against them.
Earlier, an inquiry report was presented to the court on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Department, which declared the wardens innocent.
The court ordered the anti-corruption DG to decide on their case in view of the report and disposed of the case.
The petitioners said a case had been registered against them on August 21, 2013 at Chuhng police station and the next day, the department served them show-cause notices and removed them from service without giving them personal hearings.
They said the department accused them of using fake academic diplomas documents to claim promotions.
They said action against them was malafide and had no legal value.
