Student taken into custody for beating ticket inspector to death

Four students had boarded a Sargodha Express Train without tickets and beat the inspector when he asked for them.

Four students of a commerce college in Sheikhupura beat a ticket inspector to death when he asked them for their tickets, Express News reported on Saturday.

The students had boarded a Sargodha Express train without purchasing tickets and when the inspector, identified as Rana Shabbir, asked them for their tickets they reacted violently, killing him on the spot.


One of the students, Khurram Shehzad, has been taken into custody and Lahore Railway Police has filed a case against all four of them.

The police are searching for the remaining students and an investigation is also underway.
