KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court ordered the local government department and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) management to maintain the status quo in the promotion of the senior officers to the next grade.
Many chief engineers and executive engineers of the board had taken the chief secretary, local government secretary, KWSB chief and others to court over withdrawal of recommendations for their promotions on “political basis”.
Irfan Baig and nine other officers said they were currently serving as executive engineers (civil) in BPS-18 in the water board, saying that their promotion to the next grade was due for which recommendations were made by the DPC. Abdul Rahim Khatti and three other officers said that they were also recommended by the DPC for promotions.
