
Robbers and auto-thieves had a field day in Rawalpindi during the last 24 hours as in eight strikes they deprived at least eight people of vehicles and valuables worth million of rupees, police sources said.
Auto-thieves lifted two cars and four motorbikes from various areas of the garrison city. In response to the complaints, the police registered FIRs but no arrest was made till filing of this report.
On Wednesday, two burglars broke into a house and made the entire family hostage, depriving it of Rs 500,000 in the limits of Banni Police Station. On the complaint of Ghulam Rasool, the owner of the house, police registered FIR against the burglars.
Four robbers stormed into a house in Taxila and looted Rs600,000, and gold ornaments. In another daring incident of robbery, three unknown robbers looted Rs1.5 million from Javed Iqbal in Supreme Court Colony in the jurisdiction of the Airport police.
Meanwhile, in Morgah area robbers deprived a man of 24 tolas (10 grams) of gold and valuables. In Sadiqabad and Westridge also incidents of robbery were reported. The outlaws lifted two cars and four bikes from various areas of city.
