KARACHI:
Aahung, a Karachi-based non-governmental organisation, was recently awarded the Human Rights Tulip Award by the Netherlands Foreign Affairs Minister Frans Timmermans.

The award was presented to Aahung Director Sheena Hadi by Timmermans, at The Hague. Three finalists were chosen by the public through a vote and three finalists received a wild card from the Hague Institute for Internationalisation of Law.

“Aahung’s positive agenda is precisely what can make the difference for more and more young people in Pakistan,” the Dutch minister said. The Human Rights Tulip Award is presented each year to a global human rights defender or organisation for the promotion and protection of human rights through the use of innovation.
