Healthcare: Polio vaccination drive to kick off today

Extended Programme for Immunization (EPI) Additional Director Nazir Hussain on Wednesday said a three-day polio vaccination drive would be launched on Thursday (today).     


He said health workers would administer polio drops to children under five years of age in Sahiwal, Toba Tek Singh, Attock, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Layyah, Multan, Muzzafargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

He said 5.8 million children were expected to be administered anti-polio drops in the drive.

He said health centres had been up in several districts. He urged the families to cooperate with health workers. He said healthcare was a priority of the government.
