PPP Larkana division president and Sindh Assembly speaker Agha Siraj Durrani chaired a meeting in Kot Durrani in Garhi Yasin on Wednesday, which was attended by the party’s office-bearers of the Larkana division.
Briefing The Express Tribune about the meeting, PPP Larkana district vice-president Khair Mohammad Shaikh said they have reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.
He said volunteers of the PPP will be responsible for the security and arrangements for drinking water and food will be made for the participants.
This year, he said, they are going to hold a historic rally in Garhi Khuda Bux, which will be remembered for decades. The party’s chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, co-chairperson and former president Asif Ali Zardari, MNA Faryal Talpur and other party leaders will address the gathering.
According to him, the participants, through a unanimous resolution, have reposed their confidence in the chairperson, the co-chairperson and MNA Talpur, adding that the rally will prove to be a turning point in the politics of Pakistan. He hoped that it would be the biggest ever public rally in the history of the country. According to sources, the chief minister was scheduled to preside over the meeting but he stayed back in Karachi for official meetings. PPP Larkana district president MNA Ayaz Soomro was also not able to attend either.
