HIV/AIDS: 11 pregnant women diagnosed

As many as 11 pregnant women in Larkana have been diagnosed HIV positive between 2011 and 2013.

As many as 11 pregnant women in Larkana have been diagnosed HIV positive between 2011 and 2013 and are under treatment, said medical expert Dr Aneela Isran, while addressing a seminar at Shaikh Zayed Hospital for Women. The seminar was held in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund to mark the World Aids Day on Monday.  Dr Isran revealed that as many as 1,350 HIV positive patients are present in Larkana, and most of them are intravenous drug users and sex workers, including eunuchs.
