In protest: Doctors plan to hold two-hour token strike

After seven days of protests against the kidnapping of Dr Amjad Taqweem and other doctors, health professionals in K-P have decided to observe a token strike in the three teaching hospitals from Tuesday.
Dr Taqweem, head of the Medical C-Unit at Lady Reading Hospital, was kidnapped on December 3. In protest, doctors from Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) and Hayatabad Medical Centre (HMC) boycotted their duties.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Young Doctors Association President Alamgir Yousafzai said they were going to have a two-hour token strike from 8am to 10am at LRH, KTH and HMC while private clinics in Dabgari Gardens would remain closed till Saturday.
