ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will accept the court’s verdict on graft cases against him, despite the fact that there were political motivations behind these cases, according to Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid.

Speaking to journalists at the ‘Zero Corruption: 100 percent Development’ conference which was organised by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on International Anti-Corruption Day, the minister said all cases against PM Sharif were registered during the first tenure of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, after which the prime minister was also politically victimised by former president Pervez Musharraf.

“These cases are with the courts now and the prime minister will accept their decisions whatever they are,” said Rashid.

With reference to the
PM’s Youth Loan Programme, the information minister said multiple checks and balances were in place in order to make the programme corruption-free.
