LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Saturday disposed of a notice on the reported assault of a 15-year-old disabled girl on learning that the police have submitted a report on the case and initiated prosecution.
Shahid* and his family, residents of Chak 109RB on Jaranwala Road, had gone to a wedding.
Shahid had left his 15-year-old disabled daughter at home.
While they were away, two men, Murad and Ahmed, entered the house and assaulted the girl. She is currently under treatment at Civil Hospital.
Police registered a case against the two men and conducted raids to arrest them but could not find them.
The LHC’s Complaints Cell took notice of a press report and directed the Faisalabad district and sessions judge to probe the incident and submit a detailed report on the steps taken by the police. Murad and Ahmed were later arrested and sent to jail.
