Pollution: EPD issues notices to 43 factories
Thirty three factories are iron foundries, six marble factories and 4 sizing industries.
FAISALABAD:
The Environment Protection Department (EPD) on Tuesday issued notices to 43 factories in Faisalabad district for causing pollution. EPD spokesman Muhammad Umar told the media that the department had received several complaints against the factories that had been notified. He said the factories were emitting smoke injurious to environment and health. “Thirty three factories are iron foundries, six marble factories and 4 sizing industries,” he said. “Notices have been issued to the factories. They have been asked to install treatment plants,” he added.
