FC soldier dies in anti-tank mine blast

FC spokesperson says a group of militants opened fire at the paramilitary force’s check post in Gori Pul.

A Frontier Corps (FC) operative was killed and another sustained injuries on Monday as their vehicle ran over an anti-tank mine while chasing militants in Gori Pul area of Lehri District of Balochistan.



The FC spokesperson said a group of militants opened fire at the paramilitary force’s check post in Gori Pul area and tried to escape from the scene.

The FC personnel retaliated and gave a chase to the militants when they hit an anti-tank mine. An FC man, Hawaldar Juma, sustained splinter wounds and died on the spot. Sepoy Shah was wounded. The attackers managed to escape.

Frontier Corps Inspector General Major General Mohammed Ijaz Shahid, in his statement paid tribute to the martyred soldier and said the FC would deploy all its resources to restore peace in the province and take stern action against miscreants and anti-state elements.
