Bangladesh claim victory in historic series sweep against New Zealand.
DHAKA:
Rubel Hossain grabbed four wickets as Bangladesh completed a sweep with a three-run victory over New Zealand in the final One-Day International with the hosts clinching the series 4-0
Hossain finished with four for 25 off 9.3 overs as New Zealand, chasing a 175-run target, were bowled out for 171. New Zealand needed eight runs to win in the final over with just one wicket in hand but Hossain bowled out Kyle Mills. He dismissed Brendon McCullum and Jesse Ryder in the space of five deliveries.
New Zealand were reduced to 20 for five, but captain Daniel Vettori and Grant Elliott added 86 runs for the sixth wicket. Vettori hit one six and one four in his 78-ball knock.
Earlier, Vettori and Mills restricted Bangladesh to a modest total. The tourists, however, did not allow the hosts to build a big partnership and the highest stand was 55 for the fifth wicket between Shakibal Hasan (36) and Mushfiqur Rahim (29).
