Police raided the Government Science College hostel and arrested 13 students, including 11 IJT members on Saturday for allegedly assaulting two teachers.
Two of the 13 students were named in the FIR lodged by the university administration, Iqbal Town SP Syed Tauseef Haider said. The case was registered against 45 people, 41 of them unidentified. Police said that a medical examination had confirmed that the two Law College faculty members had been assaulted.
Policemen also surrounded PU hostels, planning to search them for more suspects, but the university administration did not allow them in. The SP said the police would take strict action against students if they tried to hold a demonstration.
