Here’s one Autumn/Winter 2013 beauty trend hot off the runway that’s not only realistic enough to wear in public, but also easy enough to pull off in your everyday routine.

The petal-stained lip:

Gone are the days of a carefully blended, full-on glossy pout. Make-up artists at the autumn/winter shows have made our lives so much easier with these stained lips!

Christian Dior, Lanvin and Marni

Christian Dior and Prada led this beauty trend on the runways, with models sporting two-tone lips creating the illusion of flowers in bloom. Berry and rose hues were darker towards the centre of the lips, and diffused outward like petals opening on a flower, thus explaining the name of the trend.

Lips take on a matte finish with this look, and you’ll never have to worry about any getting on your teeth. The simplest way to achieve the look is by using a lip stain. Revlon’s Just Bitten kissable balm stain is the way to go to work this trend. Apply it liberally in the centre of your lips, and tone it down towards the edges. There you have it! You’ll be bang on trend with minimal effort.
