KARACHI:
A 38-year-old man, M*, was booked and arrested by Paposh Nagar police on Wednesday for allegedly raping his 10-year-old daughter, A. A raid was conducted at M’s house after neighbours told the police, who said they caught M in the act. An FIR No. 234/13 was registered.
District West police chief, DIG Javed Odho, said the girl was sexually assaulted by her father for the last three years, adding that the medical examination report also confirmed the abuse. The girl has been taken into safe custody.
Along with the section of rape, the police will also place the section of Anti-Terrorism Act so that M’s trial takes place at the Anti-Terrorism Court. The neighbours said the family belongs to Punjab but have been living in Karachi for decades. The girl is the second among four siblings. Their mother reportedly took divorce around eight years ago, after accusing him of sexual abuse, and left the kids behind.
