Students impress audience at sports gala
Event also celebrated 60 years of Pak-Japan diplomatic ties.

Students of Imperial International School and College on Wednesday held their colourful annual sports gala, captivating the guests who including parents and diplomats.
The event was part of the celebrations of 60 years of
the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Japan, said a press release.
The event started with the release of pigeons and balloons in the sky by junior section students. The coordinated skills of all the participants were presented in the form of a colourful walk featuring a dragon.
Imperial Principal Tahira Tanvir appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers in various curricular and co-curricular activities.
She made special mention of two students --- Fatima Noor, who had won the Toyota Dream Car competition, and Fatima Munawar, who stood first in the ‘World in Peace’ international competition out of 200,000 students across 130 countries.
She also mentioned students who achieved top positions in the Kangaroo Mathematics competition.
The gala opened with a ‘red riding hood’ race. The students then enthralled the guests by presenting aerobics, a taekwondo performance, pyramid formation and gymnastics by the middle and senior section students.
The school choir also sang various melodious songs during the event.
Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata, while addressing the students as chief guest, emphasised the importance of sporting activities and appreciated the hard work of the staff members and students.
