Tragic incident: Five dead in highway collision between car and coach

HYDERABAD:
Five family members were killed in an accident on National Highway in Benazirabad district on Monday. The deceased include a child, three women and a man.

A passenger coach collided with a car coming from the opposite direction, killing five of the six people present in the car. The accident happened on the stretch of the highway between Sakrand and Sabu Rahu. One side of the highway has been closed for repairs since September. Due to this, vehicles travelling in either direction are forced to use the same side.




Fifty-year-old Zameer Morai Memon, 40-year-old Altaf Morai Memon, 37-year-old Rozina Morai Memon, 27-year-old Shabana Morai Memon and seven-year-old Umaya Morai Memon were killed during the accident. The car’s driver, 20-year-old Daniyal, was seriously injured.

The deceased were residents of Hyderabad and were returning after an out-of-town trip. According to Sakrand police, the driver of the passenger coach that collided with the car has been arrested but no FIR has been lodged yet.

Another accident took place on the same part of the highway. The accident, involving a coach and a wagon, left six injured. The injured were shifted to Sakran Hospital.
