Drone strikes: Man seeks case against US president
Submitted letter he received threatening to blow up his house if he sought to lodge an FIR against politicians.
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge has sought comments from the Samanabad SHO by November 30 on a petition seeking a case against US President Barack Obama, the US Central Intelligence Agency, the US ambassador, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the four provincial chief ministers and others for drone strikes in Pakistan.
Petitioner Mian Azhar Ameen submitted that he worked as a journalist at a news agency called Sharp Eye and also served as the editor, the chief editor and the chief executive of other organisations.
He said that the US administration was killing innocent Pakistanis with drones while Pakistani politicians including the prime minister and chief ministers were supporting America. They were not allowing the Pakistani military to defend the country against drone attacks, he said.
He also submitted as evidence a letter he had reportedly received threatening to blow up his house in Samanabad if he sought to lodge an FIR against Americans and Pakistani politicians.
