Condolence: Former nursing head remembered

A reference to pay tribute to the services of former nursing director general Nisab Akhtar was held at the Postgraduate Nursing College on Sunday.


The participants included Nursing Director General Rukhsana Kamal, Nursing College Principal Ishrat Ishaq, Services Hospital Chief Nursing Superintendent Sajida Farsheed, Punjab Institute of Cardiology Deputy Chief Nursing Superintendent Samina Yasmin and Allama Iqbal Medical College School of Nursing head Madam Kausar Parveen.


The speakers said she was a thorough professional and a wonderful person who had devoted her life to the welfare of nurses.

“Akhtar worked day and night for the nursing department,” Ishaq said.

The participants also condemned the molestation and murder of a nurse in Sialkot and urged the chief minister to compensate the victim’s family. They said nurses needed security as they worked in tough conditions.

The participants also offered fateha for Nisab Akhtar and the nurse murdered in Sialkot.
