For disabled persons: Govt ready to frame laws
'Parliament is more than willing to legislate for appropriate handling of issues of vulnerable segments of society.'
ISLAMABAD:
Acting Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi has said that parliament is more than willing to legislate for appropriate handling of the issues of the vulnerable segments of the society — particularly persons with disabilities. Abbasi said the government is fully aware of the sensitivity of the issue and needs guidance from the community and experts on international level for proper legislation and policy making in this regard. “Pakistan is ready to contribute whatever legislations and other steps needed for creating awareness and addressing issues of the special persons,” he said. Abbasi was addressing the concluding session of the two-day International Leadership Conference of Persons with Disabilities on Friday.
