Pension: Tarar's AG summoned in pension plea

Tarar submits in his petition that Pervez Musharraf had removed him from presidency after toppling govt in 1999.

LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Friday sought assistance of the attorney general on a petition moved by former president Rafiq Tarar for grant of pension and other benefits. Tarar submitted in his petition that former military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf had removed him from the presidency after toppling the government in 1999.  He said since the Supreme Court had declared Musharraf’s acts unconstitutional, he was entitled to pension and other benefits due to a former president. He asked the court to direct the government to pay him his pension. Justice Ijazul Ahsan admitted the petition for regular hearing and directed the attorney general to assist the court on the matter.
