Resisting robbers: Man shot dead, neighbour injured

Police says five armed robbers broke into Iqbal Ali’s house in Chak 193-GB on Tuesday night.

FAISALABAD: A man was shot dead and his neighbour was injured when they resisted robbers in Faisalabad on Tuesday. Police said five armed robbers broke into Iqbal Ali’s house in Chak 193-GB on Tuesday night. Police said when Ali resisted, the robbers shot him. Ali died on the spot, police said. Ilyas Ali, the brother of the deceased, told the media that a neighbour, Irfan, was also shot by the robbers when he came to help the residents. “Irfan was taken to a hospital where his condition has been reported as critical,” he said. The Mureedwala station house officer said that a case had been registered on the complaint of Iqbal’s brother. He said a team had been formed to arrest the suspects.
