Crackdown: Major assassins arrested in Karachi
The accused was involved in killings of over 12 policemen, 33 political workers, Shia community members and doctors.
KARACHI:
Crime Investigation Department (CID) claims to have arrested an alleged militant of the banned religious outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. The accused, Amin aka Munna aka Chingari, was involved in targeted killings of more than 12 policemen, 33 political workers, Shia community members and doctors belonging to the Ahmadi community. The official added that the accused was associated with the Hafiz Qasim Rasheed group of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. The officer also claims to have recovered three rockets with launchers, 20 kilogrammes of explosives, detonators and a 9mm pistol, adding that the accused along with his companions wanted to carry out a major terrorist activity. Separately, police claim to have arrested an accused along with his two companions involved in over 100 targeted killing cases in Karachi.
