Asif enjoys mixed fortunes on day one

IBSF World Champion Mohammad Asif had a mixed start at the Langnese 4th Ranking Snooker Cup as he lost one and won the other on the opening day of matches, while Asjad Iqbal and Babar Masih registered two wins apiece.
By now Asif has built a habit of getting off to a slow start in domestic tournaments, as he was stunned 4-3 by Masih in the morning session. Masih was 3-0 down and close to defeat, but went on to triumph in the next frame and eventually won the game 4-3.
Asif then made amends for his earlier loss by beating Amir Tariq 4-2, while Masih won with a similar score line against Farhan Noor in his second match.
Asjad was off to a smooth start fending off challenges from Mohammad Bilal and Abu Saim, defeating them 4-2 and 4-1 respectively.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sajjad eased to a 4-0 triumph against veteran Mohammad Yousuf.
