Transformer repairing: Two new workshops to be set up
At a time, 12 transformers would be repaired at each of the workshops.

Two transformer repairing workshops will be set up in Sialkot and Gujrat, Gujranwala Electric Power Company officials said on Monday. Construction work will begin after cost estimation and development of a map for the projects, they said. At a time, 12 transformers would be repaired at each of the workshops. The cost for the two workshops has been estimated at Rs2 million. Each workshop will be set up on a four-kanal area. Currently, there is only one government transformer repairing workshop in Gujranwala. The new workshops were being set up to repair transformers that become out-of-order in extreme hot season, Gepco officials added. They said at the moment, out-of-order transformers were sent to Gujranwala.
