Funds: Rs2b for special development package in Bhakkar

The government has allocated Rs2 billion for Bhakkar district under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Package, District Coordination Officer Mumtaz Hussain Zahid said on Monday.


He said the funds would be used to complete projects proposed by MNAs and MPAs in the district. The DCO was presiding over a meeting at his office.


MNAs Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla and Abdul Majeed Khan, MPAs Amir Muhammad Khan, Amir Inayat Khan Shahani and Malik Ghazanfar Cheena, and the Education, Health, Finance, Planning Works and Services, and Buildings Departments officials were also present.

The DCO highlighted the priorities and details of the package. He said proposals for developmental projects related to roads construction and renovation, water supply, education, health, irrigation and municipal infrastructure would be considered. He said projects will be completed within two years.

He said relevant construction departments had been informed to prepare a booklet based on the importance, advantage, design, cost-estimation, map and other details of the proposed projects.  The MNAs and MPAs suggested various projects for public welfare and discussed their implementation plans in the meeting. The DCO instructed officials in charge of construction to develop feasibility reports of the projects.
