
They said the assailants had abandoned the body in a public park on Khwaja Safdar Road. Some passers-by had discovered the body and informed the police.
Rescue officials said there were bruises on the neck and the arms. They speculated that the woman had been strangled. The body was sent to Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Some of the deceased student’s batch mates later told the police that she had been missing for over 24-hours. They said they had thought she had been visiting some relatives. They said when she did not return on Monday, they called on her cell phone, but it was switched off.
Some students later staged a protest against the police for failing to control crime. They demanded that the chief minister take notice of the incident.
