ISLAMABAD: The security guard of a man allegedly shot dead his employer’s brother, in the federal capital on Friday, police sources said. According to police, Sheikh Mumtaz had come to pick his children up from City School in the I-8 Sector, when the guard of his brother, Sheikh Imtiaz opened a barrage of bullets on him. Sheikh Imtiaz was standing next to the guard, the police sources said.

Mumtaz was taken to the nearby Shifa International Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead due to excessive bleeding.

In the firing incident, son of a security guard of the school, Zubair, also received a stray bullet in his shoulder. He was also admitted to the hospital. His condition is stated to be stable, the police said. Police said the motive behind the murder is not clear as there are contradictory reports about a feud between the two brothers.

Police suggested that Imtiaz, was unhappy with his brother for blocking the entrance to his house in Sattelite Town, Rawalpindi.

Police claim that the two brothers had not been on talking terms. However, investigations were underway to ascertain the motive behind the crime and to arrest the assailant who managed to flee in a white coloured Suzuki Mehran car (RIA 2956).
