A crisis management cell has been established at WAPDA House to deal with any emergency during Ashura.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, no load-shedding will take place in areas where imambargahs are located or along the procession routes. Feeders where power theft is less frequent and dues are recovered will also continue to supply power.
Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) spokesperson Shaukat Afzal shared necessary equipment has been provided to all Pesco subdivisions and complaint centres so emergencies can be tackled promptly.
Pesco Chief Executive Tariq Sadozai issued special instructions to field formations to ensure continuous power supply during Muharram, added Afzal. The Crisis Management Cell at WAPDA House is under the supervision of CEO Abdul Latif Khan.
