ISLAMABAD:
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the Islamabad Police claimed to have busted six criminal gangs involved in snatching valuables at gun point.
The police also recovered twelve 30-bore pistols and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from the arrested suspects.
According to the police, 27 criminals, belonging to six separate gangs, were caught by special police teams working under the directions of Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas and Deputy Superintendent of Police CIA Basheer Ahmed Noon.
The gangs were allegedly involved in looting passengers and pedestrians and barging in to houses for robberies, the police said.
The gangsters have been identified as Agha, Ibrar, Riaz, Mohsin Raza, Fiaz, Mansha, Javed Khan, Faisal, Subhan , Tariq Mehmud, Sajid alias Bilo, Zahid, Fazal Malik, Saeed, Bilal, Amir, Asif, Murad , Hayat Khan, Niaz, Mubeen Khan, Suleman, Hidayat, Naseer, Abdul Hameed, Gull alias Mirza and Ijaz Khan alias Pehelwan.
A total of 36 cases have been registered against them at various police stations and further investigations are underway.
