Adjourned: Case sought for abduction and rape

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a petition, seeking a case against five men for rape, till November 19. The petitioner said that she had been walking towards her house on October 20 when a car stopped next to her. She said Qadeer, Nadeem and three unidentified men got out of the car, put a black cloth on her head and abducted her. They took her to a house where they raped her, she said. The men then forcibly obtained her thumb impression on blank papers. She said that she passed out and they dumped her in the Data Darbar area. The petitioner said that she filed a complaint with the police but the SHO did not register a case. She asked the court to direct the Data Darbar SHO to register a case for abduction and rape.
