Controversial statement: Petition file against Hassan in IHC
The petitioner claimed Hassan tried to defame the army and mock thousands of its martyrs.
ISLAMABAD:
A petition was filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday against controversial remarks made by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Munawar Hassan in which he called the dead TTP leader Hakimullah Mehsud a martyr. Citing Hassan and secretary law and justice as respondents the petition filed by a lawyer seeks the court’s direction to disqualify Hassan from his party position through Political Party Order 2002. The petitioner claimed that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was encouraged through this statement and Hassan tried to defame the army and mock thousands of its martyrs.
