QUETTA:

The Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) on Sunday staged a protest outside the local press club against an alleged attempt to kidnap one of its leaders a couple of days ago.

Dozens of BNP-M activists took part in the protest. They condemned the attempted kidnapping of their leader Rasul Bakhsh Baloch by armed men in the Saryab Road neighbourhood of Quetta.

The protesters shouted slogans against the government and law enforcers who, they alleged, were involved in kidnapping and killings of Baloch political leaders.

“More than 50 BNP-M leaders have been killed in targeted attacks in the past couple of years. We’ve lost our leaders and workers but not a single killer has been brought to justice,” BNP-M Secretary Information Agha Hassan claimed while addressing the protesters.

“The BNP-M is being victimised because it is waging a struggle for securing the rights of the Baloch people. Security forces are involved in these killings,” he alleged.
