LAHORE:

The city traffic police announced on Sunday that it will not issue tickets over minor violations of traffic rules on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

A traffic police spokesman told APP that offices of traffic police will remain open on 9th and 10th Muharram and additional staff would perform duty on processions routes. Only the licensing department would be given a holiday.

He said that strict action would be taken against serious violations. He said that the crackdown against the use of tinted glasses on vehicles, parking violations and encroachment would continue throughout the week.

The chief traffic officer urged citizens to cooperate with traffic wardens and to immediately inform the police if they see anything suspicious happening.
