Despite getting the award for flop of the year from us, actor Hrithik Roshan’s latest release Krrish 3 broke the records previously held by Shahrukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express. The superhero movie has crossed the INR2 billion mark at the worldwide box office, and while Hrithik is ecstatic with the notion, he does not believe in breaking or setting new records. He feels box office figures reflect the progress of cinema and hopes the record set by Krrish 3 is broken by forthcoming films like Dhoom 3.

“Records — these are all facts and figures, which are essential to define the progress of cinema or any other mode of work,” Hrithik said, according to IANS. “So it’s not about breaking records — it’s about being inspired by the previous records and then taking it forward.”

“I hope and I pray to God that the next one that comes after Krrish 3 breaks its record — that is evolution, that is progress,” said the actor, who played major role in Dhoom 2. “Keep breaking the records. Go for Krrish 3 now and then go for Dhoom 3 in some time.”

Directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan, Krrish 3 released on November 1 and entered the INR1 billion club in just a matter of four days. The superhero science fiction movie is the third film in the Krrish series. Apart from Hrithik, the cast includes Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut. And despite how well it did at the box office, the movie has been ridiculed for its story, songs and performances.

If this continues, we might as well say a prayer for quality content and just count the box office booty!
