New recruits: MQM signs up PML-N's Malik Shahnawaz Awan among others

KARACHI:
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced in a press release on Saturday that the joint secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Sindh Chapter,  Malik Shahnawaz Awan, has now joined the MQM.

In addition to Awan, two prominent members from the Mughal and Gujjar communities, Shabbir Mughal and Musharraf Gujjar, have also joined the party.

A delegation from the Mughal and Gujjar communities met the MQM Rabita Committee, including Haider Abbas Rizvi and MPA Rauf Siddiqui at Azizabad on Friday.


Other members from the two communities who have joined the MQM include Afzal Mughal, Muneer Arain, Saeed Mayo, Malik Suhail Awan, Malik Shahbaz Awan, Malik Liaquat Awan, Nek Muhammad and Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Arain.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahnawaz Awan said he was joining the MQM as he was highly impressed with the philosophy and ideology of party chief Altaf Hussain and firmly believed that only MQM could steer the country out of crisis.

Awan said the new members had expressed their desired to participate wholeheartedly in its struggle for the rights of poor people in the country.
