Disciplinary committee: PMDC VP’s impartiality questioned
PMDC issued show cause notices to Bendesha and Dr Shabbir on complaint moved against them on charges of misconduct.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Friday restrained the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council vice president Dr Asim Hussian from working as chairman of a disciplinary committee hearing the case of Young Doctors Association’s president. The court issued the order on a petition moved by YDA’s Amir Bandesha challenging an inquiry being conducted against him by Hussain. Bandesha’s counsel Noshab Khan, said Hussain was prejudiced against him and would not hold an impartial inquiry. He also said the matter was sub-judice and the inquiry should not be conducted. The PMDC had issued show cause notices to Bendesha and one Dr Shabbir on a complaint moved against them on charges of misconduct. After hearing initial arguments, the court issued notices to respondents for November 20 and stopped Dr Hussain from acting till then.
