LHC reserves verdict on the petition filed by Barrister Iqbal Jaffery challenging the appointment of the NAB chairman.

LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has reserved its verdict on the petition filed against the appointment of the Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Syed Deedar Hussain Shah.

The petition was filed by Barrister Iqbal Jaffery, who argued the chief justice of Pakistan and leader of the opposition were not consulted while appointing the NAB chief.

The petitioner said that Shah has strong affiliations with the PPP and President Asif Ali Zardari and this link has played a major role in the appointment.

The Lahore High Court has reserved its verdict regarding the further hearing of the case.

It is also yet to be decided whether a larger bench needs to be formed to hear the case.
